Description

Coiled Basketry is an ancient craft used for making containers and mats, traditionally using locally sourced plant materials such as: rushes, leaves, grasses, raffia, etc.

During this course, you will learn a variety of techniques, patterning, and stiches for making baskets and mats using your own choice of colours and experimenting with material combinations. These include cord, yarn, fabric, rushes, raffia, and so on. Design and create your own basketry items and add your own fabric and yarn to your projects to personalise your items.

All materials and equipment provided and this course is suitable for beginners.
